Violence, Where is it Coming From?

Domestic violence incidents have recently increased dramatically in Tunisia. Throughout the months of October and November, media sources and social media pages shared countless news articles about children and women who were victims of highly brutal assaults verging on killing.

According to figures released by the Tunisian Ministry of Women, Family, Children, and Seniors, the proportion of violence against married women has increased to 80 percent by 2020. According to regional ministry offices, the family is the greatest threat to children in Tunisia today, accounting for more than half of violent occurrences against children.

In the lack of any in-depth investigations on the causes of domestic violence, the Munathara Initiative is organizing a TownHall style show titled "Violence, Where is it Coming From?"
