Today, we as Arabs are not OK. Our societies live through a traumatic period of crises, and look towards an uncertain future. Our hope is our youth, who today have never been more world-conscious, sophisticated and creative. Some of them look upon the future with optimism hoping for the best, while others look upon it with suspicion and fear. Others still are absorbed into the vortex of extremism, becoming fuel to a fire that threatens their societies.

Where should we be heading? Do we turn towards our governments and support it tirelessly and wholeheartedly, hoping to see our countries through these crises safely? Do we offer our advice, even if harsh, hoping to prevent more problems from turning serious and dangerous? Do we criticize, or do we withhold all criticism until after the storm? Do we denounce, or do we praise?
With an eye on the future, what do you want to say to those who rule? The Munathara Initiative's #DDX2 event wants you to pass your message to those who rule - be it in support and praise, or in criticism and condemnation. Be creative and give your message in any form you'd like - prose or poetry, with words or with tunes, in your own form of artistic and creative expression.
